The Importance of Arc Flash Safety
Arc flash hazards present significant risks when handling electrical systems. Implementing the right safety measures can prevent accidents and injuries among your employees and contractors. We align our services with OSHA regulations and NFPA 70E standards to ensure full compliance and optimal safety.

Compliance and Standards
- OSHA States in 29CFR1910, Section 132(d)(1) – The employer is required to conduct a hazard assessment, select, and require employees to use protective apparel (PPE). Employers who conduct the hazard/risk assessment as stated in NFPA 70E are deemed in compliance with OSHA.
- NFPA-70 (NEC) States: ART.110.16 – Switchboards shall be field marked to warn qualified persons of arc flash hazards. ART.110.9 – Equipment shall have an interrupting rating sufficient for the available current.
- NFPA-70E Requires: ART.110.5(H) – mandates a risk assessment procedure for electrical safety in the workplace. This procedure requires identifying hazards, assessing risks, and implementing risk controls by following a specific hierarchy. The hierarchy of risk control is Elimination, Substitution, Engineering controls, Awareness, Administrative controls, and PPE. ART.130.3 – requires that an arc flash hazard analysis be performed for work on or near electrically energized conductors at or above 50 volts if they are not in an electrically safe work condition.
